Reporting Lost & Found Pets

We maintain these pages as a free service to people who have lost or found animals. Please feel free to also share any lost or found pets on our Facebook page.

Losing your pet can be a very traumatic time, if you have lost your pet please check to see if it might be at Polk County Animal Control as they are responsible for all stray pets.  You can go and visit them and check their website at this link.  https://www.polksheriff.org/animal-services/lost-pets-search

You can also list your pet on this site and also post it on Lost and Found Pets of Polk County’s Facebook page at this link.  https://www.facebook.com/groups/1604585929801795

If you’ve lost your pet, please fill out our Lost Pet form. Please keep in mind that you should not rely on this service alone to locate your pet. Contact your local shelters, pounds and rescue groups as often as possible.

Did you know that Polk County Animal Control is working with Best Friends and the local shelters to become a no kill community by 2025? Animal Control now has a large foster network helping them to take in and find homes for even more pets. If you find a stray animal please take it to your nearest Veterinarian or local shelter to check to see if it has a micro chip. If the animal does not have a micro chip and it is a stray contact Polk County Animal Control at 863-577-1762 for instructions to take it there or have them pick it up. This will make it easier for those who have lost a pet to find it so they only have to look one place for their missing pet. You can also list the pet on our lost and found page on this site and consider listing it on Lost and Found Pets of Polk County’s Facebook page.

If you’ve found an animal, please fill out our Found Pet form.
