Giving Programs
Furry Friends
Become a Furry Friend Partner! The Humane Society of Polk County Furry Friends are a group of devoted supporters who make regular monthly contributions to help Polk’s orphaned pets in need.
We count on their generous monthly donations to help provide the best care possible to our community’s homeless pets still awaiting forever homes with loving families.
By joining our Furry Friends program and by giving a gift of love each month, you will help to sustain the daily operations of the Humane Center, which is guaranteeing each of our pets a permanent home with a family who loves them unconditionally. The prospect of a good life exists for thousands of Polk’s orphaned animals with your kind support.
Memorials and Gifts of Honor
Gifts made in memory of a loved one who cared deeply about the work of the Humane Society of Polk County, or in memory of a pet, help thousands of Polk County’s homeless animals find loving, permanent homes. Your support of the Humane Society and the precious pets we lovingly care for each year is a wonderful way to honor your loved one’s memory. You may also make gifts in honor of your beloved friends and family to celebrate their birthdays or anniversaries. Please consider making a special occasion or holiday gift this year for those you love. They will cherish your thoughtfulness, which will kindly help our community’s orphaned animals.

Second Chance Gerrard/Harwick Fund
Gifts to the Second Chance Fund enables the Humane Society of Polk County to assist low-income families who have pets with extreme illness or injury. The Second Chance Fund helps provide emergency care to severely injured dogs and cats, essential vaccinations and surgeries to correct extreme injury. This giving fund is named in honor of Francis Gerrard and Peggy Harwick, tireless supporters and founders of the Humane Society of Polk County. Thank you for your gift of love.

Donate a Gift/Memorial Brick
Purchasing a gift or memorial brick is a great way for people to honor or remember people or pets that are important to them. Each brick will be capable of three lines of text holding 21 characters per line for you to honor your loved one. This is a great opportunity for people to leave a lasting legacy while creating a permanent tribute to those who have contributed most to your life. Sponsorship levels begin with gift bricks for a donation of $100 each. For information on how you can be a brick while honoring an important person or pet in your life, please contact Laura Sutton at 863-324-5227 or email Laura.Sutton@humanesocietyofpolkcounty.org
