Meet Denver – A Loyal, Playful Best Friend Looking for the Right Home

Denver is a 2-year-old golden mix with a birthday of October 22, 2023. He is not neutered. Denver is a very loving, goofy, loyal dog who bonds deeply with his people and thrives in a home where he can be part of the family.

He knows basic commands and is crate trained — he knows exactly where his crate is and is comfortable using it. He is completely house broken and will let you know if he needs to go outside. Denver absolutely loves to snuggle and will happily curl up beside you once he’s settled in. He is destined to make you laugh with his goofy personality, too. He is also very active and playful, as golden’s tend to be.

His favorite thing in the world is playing ball. If you throw a ball for him, you will instantly become his best friend. He also loves his stuffed animals, bones, and enjoys interactive play.

Denver enjoys going on walks and does great on a leash when using a harness. He has a lot of energy and would do best with someone who enjoys being active with their dog.

He can be timid around new people at first, but he warms up once he realizes he is safe. Denver is protective of his home and will alert you if someone comes onto the property. He can be vocal when someone unfamiliar approaches, but he listens well when told to stop.

Before we adopted him, he was not properly desensitized to the outside world as a puppy. We have been working with him on this for almost a year and he has made great progress.

Denver does very well with other dogs and loves to make friends with them. Cats are a little harder for him because he constantly wants to play with them. Because he plays enthusiastically and doesn’t always realize how strong he is, he would do best in a home without small children.

Denver is incredibly loving and loyal. If you give him a chance, he will be your best friend. He will greet you like you are the greatest thing in the world every time you come home — even if you were only gone five minutes.
