Rusty's Pool Party
That’s right it’s the last splash of summer as Cypress Gardens has
gone to the dogs!! Cypress Garden’s Splash Island water park is
throwing open it’s gates for the ultimate canine pool party. “Hot
dogs” will find cool relief at Splash Island, splashing around in the
wave pool and feasting on chicken-flavored snow cones. Humane
guests will enjoy fun games and a canine bathing suit contest. [ Click Here For Details ]
The Fur Ball
The Fur Ball, our organization's largest fundraiser, has been an annual, semi-formal
event and silent auction where all proceeds directly benefit our building fund.
Community businesses purchase sponsorships and volunteers put on the event. About
400 people attend each year. Money is raised through ticket sales, business
sponsorships, and a silent auction.
Carols in the Park
Each year the Humane Society has a booth in Carols in the Park
where we sell various handmade items to help raise funds for the animals. If
you enjoy doing crafts and would like to help out by making some items
for us please call the shelter at 863-324-5227. We also have a
lot of fun just mingling with the people and letting people know about
our services.
The Humane Society of Polk County goes to various sites
around the county where cats and dogs are available for adoption. These
events are organized and staffed by staff and volunteers who help setup/take
down the tables and cages and assist potential adopters. Some
of these include: The Pet Fest at Hunt Fountain Park, Lake Alfred
October Fest, Friday Night Live in Lake Wales and many others. |
